What we collect

Account data. Your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store the password itself). We verify your email with a one-time code when you sign up and sign in.

Search data. The video descriptions and optional details (quotes, people, timeframe) you submit, and the results our AI returns. Successful finds may appear — without any link to you — as anonymous "recent finds" pages and in the Trending section.

Technical data. IP address and browser user-agent for sessions, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. We use two functional cookies (your session and a visitor id). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

To run your searches, operate your account, enforce fair-use limits, send transactional email (verification codes, welcome, password reset), and improve the search quality. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Processors we rely on

Search queries are processed by Groq (AI inference) and video metadata is retrieved from Google/YouTube APIs. Transactional email is delivered by Mailjet. Each receives only the minimum data needed to perform its function.

Retention & your rights

Account data is kept while your account exists. You may request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion of your account and its history at any time — email support@foundvid.com or use the contact page.

Children

FoundVid is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date.
